US embassy closed after threat

The US Embassy and the American consular office in the United Arab Emirates have closed temporarily because of a “specific threat” against the embassy, a US spokeswoman said.

Hilary Olsin-Windecker, spokeswoman for the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, refused to comment on the nature of the threat or on how it was received.
