Stewart resigns from company board

Martha Stewart resigned today from the board and as chief creative officer of the media empire she created that made her the queen of domestic arts.

The move came a week after she was convicted in New York of lying to federal investigators over a shares sale.

She will remain affiliated with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia as founding editorial director.
