Pope condemns bomb attacks in Spain as 'barbaric'
Pope John Paul II today condemned the bombings in Spain as barbaric and called on Europeans to work together to create a more friendly world order “notwithstanding the difficulties and obstacles they might find”.
John Paul dedicated his weekly Sunday remarks to Thursday’s attacks, which killed 200 people and injured another 1,500, saying he shared the pain of the families of the victims and was praying for the wounded.
