Security barrier is justified, says Shalom

Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom mounted a justification of the West Bank security fence today, saying his country had no alternative.

Mr Shalom told a briefing in London that Israel had suffered more than 20,000 terrorist attacks in the past three years and had been forced to take the step of building the fence.
