'Abandoned' quake survivors vent fury on government
Angry survivors from Morocco’s minority Berber community have accused the government of abandoning them after the huge earthquake that rocked their neglected region, killing nearly 600 people and leaving thousands homeless.
At least 571 people were killed and 405 injured, the official MAP news agency quoted interior minister Al Mustapha Sahel as saying today. But the death toll could rise as rescuers make their way to hard-to-reach rural areas.
