Swedish PM concerned about EU constitution

Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson has expressed his concern about the wording of the proposed EU constitution.

Mr Persson said his government is particularly concerned about sections of the document dealing with security and defence issues.

He was speaking in Dublin following a meeting with the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern.

He said the agreement on the proposed constitution was possible during Ireland’s presidency of the EU, but the prospects for such an agreement should not be exaggerated.
