Armed sky marshals 'abhorrent', but may be right: BA chief

British Airways’ chief executive Rod Eddington said that it may be appropriate to put sky marshals on board an airliner to prevent a hijacking, but that standards must be set to make sure it is done safely.

The United States announced last month that it would require armed law enforcement officers to be placed on board international flights in US airspace when necessary, a demand that some European nations have balked at.
