Date set for McCoist court clash
An anticipated courtroom battle between football hero Ally McCoist and his estranged wife is to be continued until Thursday, it was decided at the Court of Session today.
Allison McCoist had been due to ask a judge to award her a £2m (€2.9m) divorce pay-off and an allowance of £4,000 (€5,800) per month following the star’s highly-publicised affair with actress Patsy Kensit.
McCoist is opposing his wife’s claim at the Edinburgh court.
Four days had been set aside for the hearing this week, but the court heard this morning that a medical certificate had been submitted on behalf of Mr McCoist.
The hearing was adjourned over lunch to allow for further consultation with Mr McCoist’s doctor.
At a brief sitting this afternoon, Lord Kingarth ruled that the case should be continued until Thursday “in accordance with the wishes of both parties”.
