Assassin's wedding plans sicken daughter

The daughter of assassinated Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was admitted to hospital last night after being told that the jailed killer is to be married.

Dalia Rabin-Pelossof had heart palpitations after being told of Yigal Amir’s wedding plans.

The former MP is in stable condition at the Tel Hashomer hospital near Tel Aviv, said a spokeswoman.

Prison officials said that Amir was allowed by law to wed and have children.

The ultranationalist is serving a life sentence for shooting Rabin at a peace rally in Tel Aviv in 1995 in an effort to prevent him from transferring land to Palestinian control.

Israeli MP Yuval Steinitz of the ruling Likud Party said Monday that he was considering special legislation to prevent Amir from marrying.

Amir is to marry Larisa Trimbobler, a recently divorced mother of four, who has been visiting him in prison for the last year, Channel Two TV reported Monday.

Trimbobler wants to marry Amir for ideological reasons, according to the report.

Amir does not have the chance of parole and is held in solitary confinement, with his every move monitored by cameras.

Amir and Trimbobler have not yet filed an official request to marry, but the assassin’s lawyer said today that an April ceremony is planned.
