US soldiers injured in Afghan attack

Three American soldiers were wounded in an attack on an US base in southern Afghanistan, a military spokesman said today.

One attacker was killed in the gunfight that broke out after about 15 insurgents assailed the base at Deh Rawood in Uruzgan province on Sunday.
