EC to discuss sky marshals

Aviation experts from all EU countries will hold talks with the European Commission tomorrow on controversial moves to put armed guards on some flights, particularly to America.

So-called sky marshals may already be operating on some flights from the UK, and one UK government spokesman said: “We believe sky marshals can play a useful role in aviation security. But we have to get it right: the deployment of marshals must not compromise the security of passengers which they are there to protect.”
