Maxine Carr prompts change in UK tagging rules

Britain's Home Office is to change the rules on electronic tagging of prisoners after confirmation Maxine Carr has applied for early release under the scheme.

UK ministers have announced the final decision on whether an inmate is eligible for so-called Home Detention Curfew (HDC) will be taken away from prison governors in "exceptional cases".
