Michael Owen's girlfriend fractures pelvis

The girlfriend of England footballer Michael Owen is in hospital after fracturing her pelvis in a riding accident, it emerged today.

Louise Bonsall, 23, was riding her horse in the grounds of the Flintshire home she shares with the Liverpool striker and their baby daughter Gemma Rose, when the horse reared and she fell, Owen’s agent said.

Louise is in the Countess of Chester Hospital, in Chester, where she is undergoing tests, he added.

The 24-year-old star is at the hospital by her side.

“Louise was riding her horse in the grounds of her home when she fell off,” Owen’s agent said.

“It seems that the horse reared. Louise has a fractured pelvis and is undergoing further tests.”
