Gaddafi 'eager to shed Libya's pariah image'

Muammar Gaddafi says he is eager to see Libya shed its pariah existence and be embraced by the rest of the world.

In a 45-minute meeting yesterday with chief United Nations nuclear inspector Mohamed ElBaradei, the man once described by Ronald Reagan as the “mad dog of the Middle East” insisted he was sincere in carrying out his landmark pledge to scrap his programmes to make weapons of mass destruction.
