US concerned at Russian election campaign

The US has joined European human rights officials in expressing concern about Russian parliamentary elections on Sunday that delivered big victories to allies of President Vladimir Putin.

The elections give Putin a stronger hand as he works on a strategy for seeking a second term next March.
