Missing girl found safe and well

A 14-year-old British girl who has been missing from her home for over a week has been found “safe and well” by police, Scotland Yard said tonight.

The teenager, from Nottinghamshire, was found by police officers on routine patrol in the London Bridge area of the capital, police added.

The girl was in the company of a 38-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of abduction and is currently in custody at a south-east London police station.

The 14-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to be reunited with her family.
