US soldier killed in Iraq

An American soldier was killed and two others were injured today when a patrol came under attack in northern Iraq, the US military said.

A roadside bomb was detonated as an American convoy passed through the centre of Mosul at around midday, Master Sgt Kelly Tyler said.
