American troops hurt in Iraq attack
American soldiers were wounded today when a patrol came under attack in northern Iraq, the US military said.
“We have injuries,” Master Sgt Kelly Tyler said in Mosul, the largest city in the north.
Witnesses said guerrillas set off a roadside bomb as an American convoy passed through the centre of Mosul at around midday. US troops quickly cordoned off the area, and removed wounded soldiers.
“I saw four of them on the ground,” said Mahmoud Abdel-Jabar, a bystander.
