Terrorism top of the list at Mediterranean summit
Terrorism and illegal immigration was topping the agenda today when southern European and North African leaders were meeting in Tunisia for a summit to bridge the two sides of the Mediterranean.
For the European leaders, the meeting offers a chance to show they have not forgotten their Muslim neighbours to the south – Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia – as the European Union expands to take in 10 new members, including many former Communist countries to the east.
