Blair says majority in North wants devolved government

The British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, says the majority of people in the North do want devolved Government again at Stormont.

He was speaking at his monthly press conference in Downing Street.

Mr Blair faced questions about the way forward arising out of last week's Assembly elections, in which Ian Paisley's DUP emerged as the dominant party.

Tony Blair said his Government would work with all northern parties to establish a way through the current stalemate in the stalled Peace Process.
