Palestinian activist killed in car blast

An explosion ripped through a car in the Gaza Strip today, killing a Palestinian militant, witnesses said.

The incident took place in Rafah, on the Gaza-Egypt border. The witnesses had no explanation for the blast. No Israeli helicopters were seen in the area, apparently ruling out the possibility of an attempted Israeli targeted killing.
