Ian Huntley had a nervous breakdown in the months after being arrested on suspicion of the murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, the Old Bailey heard today.

Huntley underwent a series of mental “shutdowns” which could last for up to two hours and he could do nothing about it, the jury heard.
