Indian mosque blast injures 26
A bomb exploded at a mosque in the western Indian state of Maharashtra during Friday prayers, wounding at least 26 people.
Authorities imposed an indefinite curfew to prevent any clashes between Hindus and Muslims, said Kirpa Shankar, the Maharashtra state home minister.
The explosion occurred inside the mosque in Parbhani, a small town 345 miles east of Bombay.
“The explosion occurred immediately after three men on motorcycles threw what looked like a packet into the mosque,” said police inspector Alok Joshi.
Police have tightened security around religious places, the minister said.
