Man remanded on UK student murder charge

A 39-year-old bus driver appeared in court today charged with the murder of 18-year-old UK student Alicia Eborne.

Lee Holbrook, of Beacon Park Road, Plymouth, Devon, was brought before South Devon magistrates’ court in Torquay.

He was charged with murdering Alicia, from Corntown near Ivybridge, Devon, at Shaugh Prior around five miles from her home, between November 7 and 16.

Grey-haired, moustached, stockily-built Holbrook, who was wearing a light green T-shirt, was remanded in custody to appear before Exeter Crown Court on Tuesday Novemer 25.

There was no application for bail.
