Man suspected of Falconio killing cleared of rape charges

A 45-year-old Australian truck driver suspected of murdering Peter Falconio was cleared today of rape and abduction charges unrelated to the British backpacker’s disappearance.

After the verdict, the man immediately held discussions with his legal team, while police were waiting outside the South Australian District Court, ready to arrest him on a warrant relating to the murder of Falconio.
