US jet bombs Iraqi rebels

A US jet dropped a 500-pound bomb on insurgent forces after attacks in the Fallujah area, one of which resulted in three 82nd Airborne Division soldiers being wounded, the military said today.

The attacks began yesterday when a patrol came under small arms and rocket-propelled grenade fire in the Fallujah area west of Baghdad.
