A British High Court judge today rejected a claim that a motorway design defect was partly to blame for the Selby rail crash.

Mr Justice Morland dismissed an action accusing the Department of Transport of negligently constructing and retaining a safety fence that was too short to prevent the disaster on February 28, 2001.
