US tank crew killed in Iraq
Two American soldiers were killed and one was wounded when their tank was hit by an explosive north of Baghdad last night.
The three crew members of the Abrams main battle tank were en route to a guard post near Balad, 45 miles north of the Iraqi capital when it was attacked said 1st Armoured Division spokeswoman, Major Jossyln Aberle.
The wounded soldier was evacuated to a military hospital in Germany, she said.
The latest deaths bring to 115 the number of American soldiers killed in combat since President George Bush declared an end to major combat on May 1.
