Body of missing diver found on wreck

The body of a man reported missing during a dive on a shipwreck off Orkney earlier today has been found.

Police said the discovery was made inside the wreck in Scapa Flow.

A search was been launched just before 4pm after the diver was reported overdue by his dive boat MV Sunrise.

The man had been part of a party diving on the wreck of the German battle cruiser Brummer when he went missing.

The area is the site of a number of German wrecks which have lain on the seabed since the fleet was scuttled in 1919.

Northern Constabulary confirmed tonight that a body had been found within the wreck.

Police divers were expected to recover the body tomorrow.
