Germany, France and Russia have today ruled out any military commitment to Iraq for now despite supporting a new US resolution.

In a blow to Washington’s hopes that the new UN resolution would attract troops and money to stabilise Iraq, the leaders of Germany, France and Russia ruled out any such commitment for now.
