US soldier dies in Iraq mine explosion

A US soldier was killed and one wounded in a land mine explosion north of Baghdad, the military reported today.

It was understood their Bradley armoured car struck the mine patrolling near Beiji, a major oil refining centre 120 miles north of Baghdad.
