Turkish coal mine explosion kills four
An explosion rocked a coal mine today near Turkey’s Black Sea coast, killing four workers and injuring at least one.
The explosion happened outside the Black Sea port city of Zonguldak, 90 miles northwest of the capital, Ankara, the Anatolia news agency reported.
Several other workers were also being treated after they breathed in poisonous gas leaking inside the mine, Anatolia said.
In August, five miners were killed and 24 others injured in a methane gas explosion at a mine in eastern Turkey.
