American soldier dies in grenade attack

An American soldier died in a rocket-propelled grenade attack in central Baghdad today.

The 1st Armoured Division soldier died of his wounds in a military field hospital and became the 156th to die in Iraq since President George Bush declared an end to major combat on May 1.
