Four accused of plotting attacks on German jews

Four suspected members of a radical Palestinian network who are believed to have plotted attacks against Jewish targets in Germany were charged with terrorism today.

The four alleged members of a German cell of the Al Tawhid group were arrested in April 2002 along with Jordanian Shadi Abdellah, currently on trial on Dusseldorf for his part in the alleged plot.

Abdellah has testified that the cell planned to attack Jewish targets to emulate al-Qaida.

Among those now charged in Berlin is a 39-year-old Jordanian identified as Mohamed Abu D, who prosecutors believe headed the cell.
