Dozens hurt in Israeli blast

Dozens of people have been injured in an apparent suicide bomb attack in Israel today.

The explosion occurred at a bus stop near both the Assaf Harofeh hospital and the Tsrifim army base near the Tel Aviv suburb of Rishon Letsion.

Reports said there were many soldiers at the bus stop.

Israeli authorities had been on high alert for terror attacks in the wake of Saturday’s botched attempt to kill Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the founder and spiritual leader of the Islamic militant group Hamas.
