Crematorium corpses: Owner charged
A grand jury has charged a Georgia crematorium boss, a year and a half after hundreds of bodies were found stashed away at the building.
Ray Brent Marsh, 29, faces multiple counts of burial service fraud, making false statements, abuse of a dead body and theft under the indictment. He remains on bail.
A Superior Court judge provisionally scheduled an arraignment hearing for September 23.
Investigators discovered 334 corpses in February 2002 all over the Tri-State crematorium, including some stuffed in burial vaults.
Besides the criminal case, hundreds of people are suing Marsh for failing to perform cremations.
