Abduction suspect due in court

A former US marine is due in London court today following his extradition to the UK to face a child abduction charge.

Toby Studabaker, 31, disappeared with a schoolgirl from Greater Manchester in July. It sparked a worldwide search, which ended in Germany.

Following an extradition hearing, Studabaker was flown back to England yesterday accompanied by officers from Greater Manchester Police.

A police spokeswoman said Studabaker was last night being held at Wigan police station.

He is due to appear before magistrates in the town today.
