Zimbabwe treason charges dismissed
A Zimbabwe court dismissed treason charges against two senior opposition officials today but said the trial of their leader, accused of plotting the assassination of President Robert Mugabe, would continue.
Opposition Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai, party secretary general Welshman Ncube and senior party official Renson Gasela were arrested and charged last year, two weeks before disputed presidential elections, which the government said Mugabe narrowly won.
