Goodbye to hello in communications age - study

A new language has emerged through the use of email and text messaging which could render “hello” and “goodbye” obsolete within a generation, according to a report published today.

People using new technologies to communicate are much more likely to start the conversation “hey” and sign it off “laters” than the more formal alternatives, says the study.
