'Days numbered' for French actress in coma

French actress Marie Trintignant, the daughter of film star Jean-Louis Trintignant, remained close to death today after allegedly being beaten up over the weekend by her rock star boyfriend.

The 41-year-old was in a deep coma following cerebral haemorrhaging, and a second “surgery of hope” carried out yesterday failed to ease the pressure on her brain.
