Two British tourists were believed to be among three people killed in forest fires in southern France today that police said were started deliberately.

Investigators said evidence of petrol bombs had been found at the scene, and Roquebrune-Sur-Argens mayor Luc Jousse called the blazes “a new form of terrorism”.
