Philippines extends surrender deadline for mutineers
The surrender given to soldiers who mutinied in the Philippines and took over a shopping and apartment complex in the centre of the capital city was extended by two hours today.
Presidential spokesman Ignacio Bunye said the mutineers now had until 7pm (noon Irish time) to give up and emerge from the besieged apartment and shopping complex in Manila’s financial district which they took over and wired with explosives early today.
