The commander of coalition forces in Iraq says Saddam Hussein's sons Uday and Qusay were killed in a raid by US forces today.

Saddam's sons were killed in a six-hour firefight when US forces surrounded and then stormed a palatial villa in this northern Iraqi town, a senior American general said.
