Second Iranian twin dies after operation

Ladan and Laleh Bijani, Iranian twins joined at the head, died today shortly after being separated from each other, doctors in Singapore said.

Ladan died first, and Laleh died two hours later.

The dangerous and groundbreaking operation had left Laleh, in a critical condition, a spokesman said.

“As the separation was coming to a close, a lot of blood was lost. The twins were subsequently in a critical state," Dr Prem Kumar said.
