Chinese mine blast kills 22

A coal mine explosion in northeastern China has killed 22 people and injured six.

Another 15 miners who were in the pit were rescued uninjured after the blast at the Yakeshi mine near the city of the same name in the Inner Mongolia region.

Safety officials from the regional and national governments were investigating the cause of the blast.
