US soldier killed in convoy attack

An American soldier was killed in an attack on his convoy in Baghdad, the US military said today.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, at least 19 troops were injured when mortars were fired at a US forward operating base near Balad, said Cpl Todd Pruden.
