Eight British troops injured in attack

Eight British soldiers were injured – two critically – in an incident near Basra today.

The soldiers, understood to be from the 1st Battalion of the Parachute Regiment, were attacked just south of al-Amarah, 120 miles north of Iraq’s second city.
