Five suspected members of an outlawed Islamic militant group blamed for killing Shi’ite Muslims and attacks targeting Westerners and Christians in Pakistan have been arrested, police said today.

The suspected Lashakar-e-Jhangvi group members were picked up during raids in Multan over the past week, said Superintendent Hamid Mukhtar Gondal, in Multan, which is about 400 miles south of Islamabad.
