A 12-year-old boy has been killed by an alligator as he swam with friends in a Florida river, police said today.

A 12-year-old boy has been killed by an alligator as he swam with friends in a Florida river, police said today.

Brian Griffin was pulled under the water moments after two other boys saw the 10ft reptile and screamed at him to get out.
