Five die in Israeli missile strikes

Israeli helicopter gunships fired missiles at a car carrying Hamas activists in Gaza City today, witnesses said. It was the third such attack in 24 hours.

Three passengers were in the targeted vehicle in the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood, a Hamas stronghold. The vehicle was engulfed in flames.

It was hit just a block from the Gaza City cemetery were earlier in the day 11 dead from two previous missile attacks were buried.

Palestinian doctors later said five people were killed, including a young child, and that 25 were wounded.
